To most of our customers, it's imperative that the transformer functions correctly. But it's also crucial that it looks like new.
At Jerry's Electric, we do the following:
| |
Sand all transformers. If rust is present, the unit is sand-blasted to bare metal.
Pressure-wash all transformers to remove dust and other impurities that may affect the painting process.
Air-dry all transformers. We mask the bushings and switches prior to painting.
Apply a primer paint coat of at least 1.5 mils thick.
Apply a final coat with an electrostatic spray gun using an acrylic enamel paint. The paint is 1.5 mils in thickness.
Apply a rubberized undercoating to each padmount transformer with a minimum thickness of 7 mils. The undercoating covers the bottom and 4-8 inches up each side of the transformers.
